Netflix Original Lucifer to Come Back For Its Last and Final Season 6

Netflix Original Lucifer is gearing up for a premiere on August 21, 2020, and the makers have already revealed that the Tom Ellis show will be back for a final and sixth season. According to reports, season 6 might see a time jump in its storyline, revealing the future and fate of all the characters in pivotal roles. So, let’s wait and watch what the lord of Hell has to offer us in his final journey on the digital platform.

According to reports, online video streaming giant Netflix initially held discussions with Warner Bros. Television to renew Lucifer for a 6th season. The highly popular show initially aired on FOX channel but was shelved just after three seasons. Netflix then acquired it for its highly anticipated fourth season.

A Two-Part Season 5

Later on, the video streaming platform made an official announcement about Lucifer’s fate. The concerned officials stated that they were going to make the 5th season with a run of 16 episodes. According to reports, they said that the 16 chapters would be divided into two parts, i.e. eight episodes each. Executive producers, Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich, went on to thank Netflix for saving a show that made a name for itself with its story and gained a lot of fans.

When Lucifer was cancelled in the year 2018, Tom Ellis said that he was gutted with FOX’s decision to cancel the show. The actor said that he had a fantastic time filming a series that was close to his heart. He also apologised to all his fans.

What Can Fans Expect from Season 5

The upcoming season might explore Eve’s story arc as everyone saw her walking off at the end of season 4. The previous season saw Lucifer saying his final goodbye to Chloe before returning to Hell. The ending also saw Chloe confessing her love for the fallen angel. However, everyone is sure that Tom Ellis’s character will return to earth, but they will be more excited to know what lies ahead for the crime-solving partners.

The show will return to fulfil what its audience ‘truly desired’. The season might also see God making an entrance for the first time. Although, it has not been revealed who will play the character of Lucifer’s father. The only time God’s character made an appearance was when his voice was presented as a narrative in the end. The narrative was voiced out by Neil Gaiman who is also the creator of the DC Comic The Sandman.
