Steps to turn off McAfee firewall protection in Windows 10

To disable McAfee firewall protection, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Windows Taskbar, and on the left side of the clock, find the McAfee(M) icon. Double click on the icon.
  2. A McAfee Security Center screen will open. Click on “Web and Email Protection,” which will be in the screen’s upper middle area.
  3. In the Web and Email Protection panel, go to Firewall and check its status. Click on Firewall: On.
  4. Below the Firewall section, there will be two buttons- Turn Off and Restore Defaults on the right side. Click on the “Turn Off” button.
  5. A confirmation dialog box will pop up. It will ask for verification for disabling the firewall. You will be asked, “When do you want to resume firewall?” The options will be-
  • In 15 minutes
  •  In 30 minutes
  • In 45 minutes
  • In 60 minutes
  • When I restart my PC
  • Never
  1. Select the appropriate option as per your choice from the pull-down menu and then click on the “Turn Off” button.
  2. Click on “Done,” and your McAfee Firewall has been successfully turned off.


Disabling Windows Firewall in Windows 10

Windows Firewall is a good measure for protection but if there is an alternate firewall program installed in the system them disabling the windows firewall is the best choice. Here are the steps on how to turn off Windows firewall in Windows 10:

  1. Go to the Power User Menu and open the Control Panel.
  2. Select “System and Security” and select Windows Firewall.
  3. Go to the left side of the Windows Firewall screen and choose “Turn Windows Firewall on or off.”
  4. Click on the bubble located next to Turn off Windows Firewall. IF you wish, you can disable the firewall for only private networks, public networks, or both networks.
  5. Click on the OK button, and your Windows Firewall is turned off.
